Enhancing Language Fluency in Delhi
ECOSYSTEM STRENGTHENING

For each child to have a holistic educational experience, galvanising the larger ecosystem of concerned adults who can enable schools to get better is crucial. This can include representatives from local industry who could provide career guidance to students or the local village librarian who could read aloud to children or local volunteers who can support in a variety of ways.

In private schools, the leader of the school often draws on a variety of stakeholders to enrich the learning experience of children. We aim to support complex leaders (who can be high school or middle school heads who lead 5-10 other primary schools in the neighbouring area) to activate the ecosystem around their schools and draw in every single adult who can contribute to making their school better.

Our latest project is in the union territory of Delhi where we are using the Read-Aloud to enhance language fluency among teachers and children in 101 schools that are governed by the Municipal Commission of Delhi, Keshavpuram Zone and in 54 schools in North Delhi that come under the Directorate of Education. The programme aims to develop a culture of reading in the school and enhance foundational literacy skills.
