Working with states to strengthen leadership and governance towards school improvement

SSIP: The Systemic School Improvement Programme enables leaders at all levels to:
• develop a common and measurable understanding of holistic school quality across stakeholder
• measure the performance of schools against validated quality benchmarks
• use the data to begin to work in peer communities of leaders (at all levels) to support schools in a targeted manner to develop capacity to lead change
• Validate improvement
• Document learnings and best practices in a way that they can be fed back into the system
• Activate networks of local stakeholders (volunteers, public libraries, local industry etc.) to create an ecosystem of support around schools

Programme's Aim

The programme aims to realize the mandate of the NEP 2020 by creating school complexes, conducting school reviews, creating evidence-based action plans and tracking the improvement journeys of these schools. The programme also envisions the certification of all district and block level officials in the school review process to equip them to perform programme activities independently for the sustainability of the programme.
The outcomes of this programme so far have included:
  1. 72 schools that improved on standards against the Shaala Siddhi framework
  2. 16 CRPs were certified to review and support schools
  3. 11 schools were incentivized with storage space for having shown improvement. Most schools do not have adequate storage facilities for teachers.
