The program aims to help the gram panchayat convert their libraries into welcoming spaces for children and introduce them to the joy of reading. The Read-Aloud Program for Gram Panchayat Libraries in Bengaluru Urban and Kodagu was launched in May 2022. It expanded to 4 more districts — Belagavi, Chikkamagluru, Kolar, and Tumakuru in May 2023.
